The Challenge

Duke International Magazine is an inspirational lifestyle, fashion, and glamour publication dedicated to enriching Black male culture and dignity. The magazine features stories of Black men thriving in their careers across a broad spectrum of fields, and it needed a digital home that could match the ambition and quality of its editorial voice.

The editorial team required a robust digital publishing platform capable of handling a high volume of articles across multiple categories, News, Entertainment, Business, Sport, and Lifestyle, while maintaining a polished, magazine-quality reading experience. Each category needed its own distinct section, yet the site had to feel cohesive and easy to navigate as a whole.

Beyond content management, the magazine needed strong social media integration to amplify its reach and SEO-optimised article pages to ensure stories could be discovered organically by the audience they were written for.

Our Approach

We built a WordPress-based publishing platform with a custom theme designed specifically for editorial content. The homepage features a prominent hero section for featured articles, drawing readers into the most important stories immediately. Below, grid-based layouts with thumbnails allow visitors to browse across categories without feeling overwhelmed.

Typography was a key focus, we established a clear hierarchy that gives headlines the weight they deserve while keeping body text comfortable to read at length. The design choices reinforce the magazine's brand identity: confident, polished, and culturally grounded.

We integrated social media feeds directly into the site so that the magazine's presence on platforms like Instagram and Twitter feels like a natural extension of the reading experience. Every article page was optimised for search engines with proper meta tags, structured data, and clean URL patterns, giving each piece of content the best chance of reaching new readers.

The Results

The platform gives Duke International Magazine a professional, credible digital presence that matches the quality of their editorial content. Readers can seamlessly browse articles across five distinct categories, and the editorial team can publish and organise content efficiently without technical friction.

Since launch, the site has served as the central hub for the magazine's growing audience, with SEO-optimised pages driving organic discovery and social media integration keeping the community engaged across channels.
